Introducing Nelson Physiotherapy at the Lab, a physical wellness collective.

A collaboration between highly skilled and experienced professionals, committed to providing our clients with person-centred care to achieve optimal physical function and well-being.

Our approach

Working in partnership with The Nelson Sport Lab, we are Nelson’s destination for performance, recovery and pain management.

Josh and Jenny have both trained and competed in elite athletics and are specialists in rehabilitation, biomechanics and exercise physiology. Our experience and expertise allow us to understand the nuances of physical movement and the debilitation that can arise from pain and injury.

We believe in empowering our patients with the knowledge and tools necessary to actively participate in their own rehabilitation journey. We strive to provide personalized care that addresses not only the symptoms but also the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction, promoting overall physical health and improved quality of life.

  • "I went to Josh for two years and I can confidently say that I would recommend him to anyone. He is incredibly capable of assessing people as a whole, and not just as their injury. It is very clear that his job is a passion not just work to him. He was there for me throughout my rehabilitation and has shown me how resilient the human body can be; as well as giving a safe learning environment for any and all questions you might have for your recovery. He is reliable, dedicated, enthusiastic, and is always kind. When I met him I felt a sense of hopelessness for myself and my body, but when faced with each obstacle he had a sense of optimism that was enough to convince me as well; now, 2 years later I have an entirely changed perspective on my personal capabilities and a sense of safety within my body’s healing process. I couldn’t be more grateful to have met Josh and I feel more grateful he helped me learn to help myself."

  • "Jenny listens, is thorough in her evaluations, is easy to communicate with, and the at-home exercises really do make a difference as long as you do your homework! I have a chronic issue and with Jenny's help I can still ski, hike, ride my bike, and chop firewood. Highly recommended!"

  • “Josh has a way of making you feel safe, heard, seen, and most importantly of all - hopeful. He has an incredible understanding of the human body and chronic pain, listens attentively and really genuinely cares about his patients. He has helped me overcome chronic injuries when I had completely lost hope and thanks to him I am back to being more active and healthier than ever!”

  • "My physio and bike fit sessions were awesome! Jenny clearly knows her stuff and I feel like I'm in good hands there to strengthen my knee and get flexibility back. I learned a lot, really like the Physiapp for keeping me on my daily program and will definitely be back!"

  • “Over the last two years, Josh has helped me heal my shoulder injury, cure my vertigo, and has given me the tools to deal with long term pain issues. Josh carries himself with an easy professionalism and competence that creates an environment of safety and fun. I highly recommend him!”

  • “ I first started working with Jenny following an acute injury sustained in the climbing gym. She’s since become an indispensable resource for injury prevention and biomechanics for all my mountain sports pursuits. I appreciate Jenny’s deep knowledge and experience, her clear communication style, and her first-hand understanding of endurance sports conditioning and performance. ”
